To those considering a donation

Because our board is made up of volunteers, very little expense goes to administration, thus more of your donation goes directly to charity. In addition, our board members are concerned community leaders, representatives of the City Council and the Chamber of Commerce. Our Board Members represent the concerned citizens of the community, and bring a vast amount of expertise to the foundation.

You probably have a dream about what your charitable gifts could accomplish now and for years to come. We have been successfully connecting donor’s charitable dreams with community needs for almost ten years. The result is powerful and timely for the local community.

The basic appeal of the Community Foundation to donors is flexibility. There are a variety of tax-effective ways to give gifts and you can choose how your charitable gifts will be used. Each gift can benefit from the most favorable tax treatment the law allows for contributions.

There are many existing charitable causes in the local community that you may contribute to as a pass through gift, through the Community Foundation. This can be virtually anything you deeply care about – for example, the arts, healthcare, education and human services. However, you may choose to give the foundation the flexibility to respond to emergency needs in the community.

Funds established in the names of donors or loved ones forge permanent connections with the community.

Tax Benefits
The Community Foundation is a public charity under Federal tax law; gifts made during a donor’s lifetime may result in important tax advantages. Bequests may be deductible for Federal Estate Tax purposes.

Donors receive the most advantageous tax incentives for donating to a community foundation, as the Internal Revenue Service classifies a community foundation as a public charity. Therefore, the higher annual deduction limits and favorable valuation methods are available.

Public foundations are taxed at a lower rate therefore, more of your money goes directly to charity.
